Trientine hydrochloride (Syprine) is prescribed in order to treat Wilson’s disease in patients who are unable to take the medicine named penicillamine. Wilson’s disease specifically is a condition where the body starts storing excess copper. The drug trientine hydrochloride is not recommended to be used for the treatment of cystinuria (a kind of condition where a protein named cystine is excreted into the urine), RA (Rheumatoid Arthritis), or biliary cirrhosis.
