Have you ever wondered how the Internet works on our lives? What can we do with it and what can we do without it?
The topic is “on time”, because we live in the era of the Internet and computerization. However, do we realize how much it affects our lives?
In the middle of the 20th century, nobody had heard about it, nor had they any idea how to use it. It was only the second half that brought about the development of networks in the world. In Poland it was only in the 90s of the last century that it started to become universal and was slowly implemented.
Nowadays, nothing happens without it. We can safely say that the network is a window on the world. We can follow current information from the world, find a job, do shopping. The Internet is a specific collection of services and recipients. In order to find or buy anything, we do not have to leave our homes. Information comes to us.
Communicators, social networking sites allow you to contact your friends. You can say that we are up to date with the news about how they are doing. Going to the beautician we will check their offers on the Internet. On the forums we will find out whether the one we have chosen is worth recommending or not.
If you want to buy new pants or a dress for a wedding you do not have to go to the store and stand in line or expose yourself to crowds in the gallery. We know our dimensions – we buy them in the e-shop. Quickly and with home delivery.
To watch a movie, we don’t have to go to the cinema. There are online film rentals. For a fee close to the ticket price we can have a home screening in our own privacy. It is a comfortable solution mainly for those who do not like full room, popcorn and rustling paperwork.
Do you dream of a trip? Book tickets wasn’t easier! Just go to the website of the travel agency, choose the country you are interested in, choose the hotel and you can move on. Sometimes it happens that booking tickets online is a cheaper way to do so. However, this does not exempt you from being vigilant, as there may be hooks hiding.
There used to be libraries in the past. And in libraries, there are encyclopedias, dictionaries, repetitories and so on. Today? Today libraries are a thing of the past, because we have the Internet at our disposal. We don’t have to leave the house to get the same information as in the library. Although sometimes the network is not a reliable source. People who speak on a given topic, hardly ever are specialists in the field they speak about. It is worth to approach it with a pinch of salt and consult it with an encyclopedia, for example.
The Internet is a boon, however, with defects. It is worth to bear this in mind. Everything is for people. To be a prudent user, you should do it with your head.
